A Boating East Boater Appreciation Program

June 14 - August 23, 2008

DID YOU KNOW:  Statistically speaking the value of the recreational boating economy registered more than $39 billion in the US and $8 billion in Canada (2006).

Recreational Boaters are important to the general economy. We think it’s time to show some APPRECIATION. Boating tourists need to be recognized from the canoeist, to the fisherman, to the passenger on a cruise boat, to the captain of a fabulous yacht!

Here’s the plan:
Boaters will register by filling in the Boaters Boosting Business© (BBB) form found in Boating East Magazine and dropping it into a BBB Centre in exchange for a BBB Button. One button for each crew!

While on tour one person in each crew wears the button. On a regular basis our BBB port spotters will spot boaters wearing their buttons and then:

ONE        award an on the spot gift

TWO       take the winners picture with a digital camera, including local                  chamber reps or   mayor, someone who represents the                  community

THREE    send this picture with a cut line identifying everyone firstly to the                  local paper, then to info@boatingeast.com where the picture will                  be forwarded to the boaters home port as well as posted on the                  Boating East website!

ALL SUMMER LONG THE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE SENT TO THE BOATING EAST HEAD OFFICE FOR A DRAW ON LABOUR DAY FOR A FINAL THANK YOU FOR BOATING EAST 2008 GIFT!
